That's why it tastes the way it does. Brown sugar isn't just sweet — it has a caramel, almost toasted edge to it, like the bottom of a good flan. Against cold milk, that warm note stands out instead of getting buried. Most bubble tea leads with the tea flavor. This one leads with the sugar and the milk, and the pearls do the rest.
The number one thing people get wrong: they stir it right away. Don't. Take two or three sips through the stripes first while the layers are still separate — the top is milky and mild, and each sip pulls a little more syrup up. Stir it after that if you want it even. Stirring immediately turns it into one flat sweet color and you lose the best part.
How to Order Tiger Boba Like a Regular
Sugar level: ask for less sugar or 50%. This is the single best bubble tea ordering tip we give. The brown sugar syrup on the pearls is already sweet on its own, so the standard level catches some people off guard. Half is where most of our regulars land.
Ice: regular ice. Light ice sounds smart but it lets the milk warm up fast, and this drink is at its best cold.
Size: large. The pearls take up real space at the bottom, so a large gets you closer to the amount of drink you're picturing.
Toppings: the pearls are the whole point, so don't swap them. If you want more chew, add pudding — the soft egg pudding and the brown sugar go together well.
Dairy: it's a fresh milk drink, so it does contain dairy. If you need a non-dairy option, our fruit teas are the section to look at instead.
One caffeine note worth knowing. Because there's no tea base, Tiger Boba is caffeine-free. That single fact makes it a 7 p.m. bubble tea. Families come in after a game at San Gabriel Park, order these for the kids, and nobody is wired at bedtime. Southwestern University students go the other way and use it as the treat drink that won't wreck their sleep after a late study session.
Where to Get Tiger Boba and Bubble Tea in Georgetown, Texas
We're at 1013 W University Ave, Ste 165, inside Wolf Ranch Town Center. Take the University Ave exit off I-35 and you're about two minutes out — the same trip you're already making for groceries or a Target run.
One thing that matters more than people realize: we cook our pearls in small batches all day long. Tapioca pearls have a short window. Fresh, they're soft with a little bounce. Four hours later they go hard in the middle and chalky on the outside. A bubble tea shop that cooks once in the morning is serving you a very different drink at 8 p.m. than at noon. With brown sugar drinks especially, you can taste the difference right away, because the pearls are the flavor.
Our tea leaves and toppings come in from Taiwan through Sharetea, which has been making boba for around 30 years. But the part that decides whether your drink is good happens in our shop, that day.

A Cafe for Sitting, Not Just Grabbing
Some people take their bubble tea to the car and go. Plenty of others treat us like a cafe — laptop out, homework spread across the table, a conversation with a friend that runs way past the bottom of the cup. Nobody is going to rush you.
If you're staying, our Milky Series is built for slow drinking. Classic Pearl Milk Tea is the original and the fairest starting point. Honey Pearl Milk Tea is softer and rounder. Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea leans rich and caramel-like, which makes it the closest cousin to Tiger Boba if you want tea in the mix. Taro Pearl Milk Tea is the purple one, nutty and smooth. Thai Pearl Milk Tea is bold and spiced. Coconut Pearl Milk Tea and Mango Green Milk Tea run lighter, and the Golden Retriever gets ordered for the name and re-ordered for the taste.
Want plain tea with nothing layered on it? Our Fresh Brew line does exactly that — Classic Tea and Honey Tea, brewed through the day, available at zero sugar.
The Coffee Shop Half of Our Menu
Groups don't have to split up when one person wants coffee. We run as a coffee shop too, with the boba twist built in.
Coffee Creama is cold coffee under a salted cream cap — sip through the cap, don't mix it. Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly settles the coffee-versus-milk-tea argument with jelly cubes that taste like cold brew. Coffee w/ Ice Cream is blended and sits closer to dessert than breakfast.
Quick guide if you're watching caffeine: coffee drinks are highest, black tea next, green tea lower, and the whole non-caffeinated section — Tiger Boba included — has none.
Our Dessert Shop Lineup: Blended Drinks You Eat With a Spoon
Georgetown heat runs from May clear into October. During those months our blended drinks outsell everything, and this part of the menu operates like a dessert shop.
Oreo w/ Pearl is thick cookies-and-cream with pearls hiding at the bottom. Taro w/ Pudding puts nutty taro against soft egg pudding. Thai Tea w/ Pearl blended comes out sweeter and spicier than the milk tea version. Lava Flow streaks strawberry through coconut and might be the best-looking drink we make. Peach Tea w/ Lychee Jelly is the lighter blended option when you don't want something heavy.
Then there's Halo Halo, our Filipino-inspired build, available regular or as Halo Halo Ice Blended. Both are layered and loaded and honestly closer to a sundae than a drink.
Ask for a spoon straw with any of these. We keep them behind the counter.
Ice Cream Shop Picks in a Cup
A few of our drinks come with a real scoop on top, which covers an ice cream shop craving without a separate stop.
Mango w/ Ice Cream is the summer default. Strawberry w/ Lychee Jelly & Ice Cream adds floral jelly bits that pop when you bite them. Coffee w/ Ice Cream pulls double duty for the coffee crowd.
These do not survive a long drive in a Texas parking lot. If you're heading more than ten minutes out, ask for extra ice.
Juice Shop Flavors With Real Tea Underneath
Not in a milky mood? This section works like a juice shop, except everything sits on brewed tea instead of syrup and water.
Mango Green Tea is the easy first pick. Passion Chess comes in tart and bright. Berry Lychee Burst is our most floral drink and the one that catches people off guard. Peach Tea w/ Honey Jelly is gentle and easy. Mango & Passion Fruit Tea splits sweet and sour down the middle. Honey Lemonade is what Georgetown orders on a 102-degree afternoon without having to think about it.
All of these run 0%, 30%, 50%, 70%, or 100% sugar. Start at 50%.
Soft Drinks Shop Swaps Without the Can
Cutting back on soda but still want a cold, sweet bubble tea? Our caffeine-free drinks fill the same job a soft drinks shop does, minus the can.
Tiger Boba leads this group. Strawberry Coconut is creamy and bright, and it's the one parents order for the whole car. Wintermelon Lemonade is the quiet favorite — wintermelon reads a little like honey and caramel, and lemon keeps it sharp. There's a Wintermelon Lemonade Ice Blended for hot days and Wintermelon w/ Fresh Milk when you want something calm and creamy. Halo Halo rounds it out.
This is the section we walk parents to. Nobody gets left out and nobody is up late.
New Matcha Series
Our newest bubble tea lineup, and it's climbing fast. We use real matcha, so there's a grassy, slightly bitter base under the sweetness. That's correct — that's what matcha is supposed to do.
Matcha Pearl Milk Tea is the standard build. Matcha Fresh Milk drops the tea base so the matcha reads cleaner. Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk is the layered pink-and-green one that lives on social media. Mango Matcha Fresh Milk is the sweeter version.
If Tiger Boba is your drink and you want to try matcha, go with Matcha Fresh Milk — same fresh milk base, totally different flavor, and it's the smoothest jump across.
Questions We Get About Tiger Boba
Does Tiger Boba have caffeine? No. There's no tea in it — just brown sugar pearls and fresh milk.
Is Tiger Boba the same as brown sugar boba? Yes, it's our version of it. The tiger stripes come from brown sugar syrup coating the inside of the cup.
Why does it look different every time? Because the stripes form on their own when the syrup runs. No two cups pour the same. That's part of it.
Should I stir it? Take a few sips first while the layers are separate, then stir if you want.
Is it very sweet? At full sugar, yes. Order it at 50% the first time.
Can I get it without dairy? Not this one — it's a fresh milk drink. Our fruit teas are the dairy-free route.

Tiger Boba: The Brown Sugar Bubble Tea Georgetown, Texas Orders on Repeat
You can spot a Tiger Boba from across the room at Wolf Ranch. Dark brown sugar streaks running down the inside of the cup, white milk on top, a thick layer of black pearls at the bottom. People pick up their phone before they pick up their straw. No other bubble tea on our board gets photographed this much. That's not an accident — the stripes are why it's called Tiger Boba in the first place.
We make a lot of drinks at our bubble tea shop in Georgetown, Texas, and this is the one that gets pointed at the most. Somebody in line sees it slide across the counter and says, "Wait, what is that one?" Then they order it. Then they order it again next week. It has quietly become one of the most-ordered bubble tea drinks we make.
So here's the whole story on it — what's actually in it, how to order it right, and what else on our menu is worth your time while you're here.
What Tiger Boba Actually Is
Tiger Boba is a bubble tea made from brown sugar pearls and fresh milk. That's the short version, and it's shorter than most people expect.
There's no tea in it. None. It surprises people every time. We cook tapioca pearls in brown sugar syrup until they soak it all the way through, then we paint the syrup up the inside of a cold cup, drop the pearls in, and pour fresh milk over the top. The stripes form on their own as the syrup slides.
