• Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly. Our milk tea mixed with coffee, with soft cubes of coffee jelly at the bottom. Coffee jelly is coffee set into little squares, a bit like firm gelatin. You pull them up through the wide straw and chew them as you drink.

How the buy one get one deal works

Here is the simple version of our first coffee bubble tea deal.

• Buy any coffee drink, get a second coffee drink free. Both drinks need to be from the coffee list above.

• Mix and match. Your two drinks do not have to be the same. If they cost different amounts, the lower-priced one is the free one.

• One deal per customer. Bring a friend and they can get their own pair.

• In store only. This is a walk-in deal, so it does not work on delivery apps.

• One day only. Tuesday, September 29, from 11am to 9pm.

Bring a coworker and split it. Or get two for yourself, one for now and one for later. We won't judge.

The best coffee pairs to order

Since you're getting two drinks anyway, here are the bubble tea pairs we'd pick from behind the counter.

The afternoon slump pair: Coffee Creama plus Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly. One smooth, one strong. Good for a 3pm meeting you are dreading.

The "I don't even like coffee" pair: Coffee w/ Ice Cream for your friend who says they hate coffee, and whatever you like for yourself. The ice cream softens the bitter taste. We have watched a lot of people change their minds this way.

The save-one-for-later pair: If you plan to drink the second one later, pick Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly. Coffee jelly holds up in the fridge much better than tapioca pearls, which get hard when they get cold. The blended drink will melt, and the foam on the Creama goes flat, so drink those two right away.

A few tips about caffeine

Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly has both coffee and black tea in it, so it is the strongest of the three. If you're coming in after dinner and you want to sleep tonight, split one with a friend or pick something from our caffeine-free list further down.

For kids, skip the coffee bubble tea drinks. Tiger Boba or Strawberry Coconut are better picks for little ones, and they're still fun to drink.

One more tip: you can ask for less sugar. At 50% sugar, you taste more of the coffee and less of the syrup. Most regulars on the coffee side of our bubble tea menu order it that way.

When to come on Tuesday

We open our bubble tea store at 11am, and the first hour is usually quiet. Lunch picks up around noon. The after-school stretch in the afternoon is when we expect the biggest line, since a free second drink is a good reason to bring the whole car.

If you want to walk in and walk out fast, come before noon or after 6pm.

Getting here is easy. We're inside Wolf Ranch Town Center on University Avenue. Coming on I-35, take the University Ave exit and head west for a couple of minutes. If you're driving over from Sun City or from the Square downtown, University Avenue gets you here too.

Cafe

We're a bubble tea shop first, and milk tea is what most people order here. Classic Pearl Milk Tea is where most people start. Honey Pearl Milk Tea uses honey for a softer sweet. Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea tastes a little like caramel. Thai Pearl Milk Tea is bold and bright orange. Taro Pearl Milk Tea is the purple one. Coconut Pearl Milk Tea is creamy and light. Mango Green Milk Tea puts fruit and milk together. Golden Retriever is our loaded one, with four toppings in one cup.

If you like your tea plain, our Fresh Brew side has Classic Tea and Honey Tea, brewed through the day.

Coffee shop

Georgetown has great coffee shops, especially around the Square, and we're not trying to replace your morning cup. What we do is the mix of coffee and bubble tea. Coffee Creama brings the foam. Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly brings the chew. Coffee w/ Ice Cream brings the dessert.

That's what National Coffee Day is about for us. It's a day to try coffee in a way you can't get at a regular coffee shop, and to get a second one free while you do it.

Our ice-blended bubble tea drinks are thick and cold, and some people eat them with a spoon. Oreo w/ Pearl is the top seller. Taro w/ Pudding is purple taro with soft pudding. Thai Tea w/ Pearl turns Thai tea into a frosty slush. Peach Tea w/ Lychee Jelly is light and fruity. Lava Flow is the layered one people take photos of.

Halo Halo is a mix of jellies, beans, and milk, inspired by a classic Filipino dessert. You can get it as Halo Halo or as Halo Halo Ice Blended if you want it thick.

Ice cream shop

Three of our drinks come with real ice cream on top. Coffee w/ Ice Cream is the one that counts for Tuesday's deal. Mango w/ Ice Cream is the sweetest. Strawberry w/ Lychee Jelly & Ice Cream is the one kids point at through the glass.

Late September in Georgetown is still warm, so these three stay popular well into fall.

Not in the mood for anything creamy? Our fruity bubble tea drinks are the lighter side of the menu. Mango Green Tea is the everyday pick. Passion Chess is tart and bright. Berry Lychee Burst mixes berries with sweet lychee. Peach Tea w/ Honey Jelly is soft and easy. Mango & Passion Fruit Tea puts two fruits in one cup. Honey Lemonade is the one we hand people coming back from a walk along the San Gabriel River or a day at Blue Hole.

Soft drinks shop

This is our caffeine-free list, and it's the one to know if you're coming in late on Tuesday. Tiger Boba is brown sugar and fresh milk with no tea at all, and the tiger stripes down the cup make it a photo favorite. Strawberry Coconut is gentle and a good first drink for kids. Wintermelon Lemonade is sweet and tangy. Wintermelon Lemonade Ice Blended is the frozen version. Wintermelon w/ Fresh Milk is mellow and smooth.

New Matcha Series

Matcha has its own caffeine, and our newest drinks have been selling fast. Matcha Pearl Milk Tea is matcha and milk with pearls. Matcha Fresh Milk skips the tea base, so the matcha tastes cleaner. Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk has pink and green layers. Mango Matcha Fresh Milk is the sweeter one.

They aren't part of the coffee deal, but if your friend is team matcha and you're team coffee, you can still come in together.

Which drinks count as coffee drinks

We have three coffee drinks on our bubble tea menu, and all three are part of the deal.

• Coffee Creama. Iced coffee and milk under a thick layer of creamy foam. Sip it without stirring first, so you get foam and coffee in the same mouthful.
