How to Get the Most Out of a $5 Bubble Tea

A few tips from behind the counter.

Try the one you keep skipping. Every bubble tea costs the same during Happy Hour. That makes it the best time to try something new. If it's not for you, you're out $5 and you've learned something.

Go for the loaded drinks. Some drinks come with a lot going on: ice cream, pudding, jelly, or several toppings at once. The Golden Retriever, Halo Halo, and the ice blended drinks with ice cream are built big. At $5, those stretch your money the furthest.

Pick your sugar level. Every bubble tea can be made at 0%, 30%, 50%, 70%, or 100% sugar. Going back to work after? 30% or 50% keeps the drink lighter.

Pick your caffeine on purpose. Heading back to a desk? Coffee drinks and black milk teas give you a lift. Picking up the kids next? Our caffeine-free drinks are the easier call.

Watch the clock. Happy Hour ends at 1 p.m. If you're cutting it close, plan to be at the counter before then.

Bring a coworker. Two bubble teas for $10 is an easy team treat. Bring the whole office and nobody has to argue about who's buying.

Where to Find Our Bubble Tea Shop in Georgetown, Texas

We're at 1013 W University Ave, Ste 165, inside Wolf Ranch Town Center. From I-35, take the University Ave exit and head west. We're about two minutes off the highway.

Coming from Southwestern University? It's a straight shot west down University Ave. Coming from downtown and the Square? It's a short drive too.

If you've got a free afternoon later in the week, grab a cup and take it down to Blue Hole or the San Gabriel River trail. A cold bubble tea and a shady spot by the water is a pretty good Georgetown afternoon.

Plenty of people use our bubble tea shop as a cafe, not just a quick stop. Grab a table, eat your lunch, and finish your drink before heading back. Our Milky Series is the best place to start if you want something smooth that lasts the whole break.

Classic Pearl Milk Tea is the one everyone measures the rest against. Black tea, milk, and chewy pearls. Honey Pearl Milk Tea is softer and rounder. Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea leans rich and caramel-like. Thai Pearl Milk Tea is the bold orange one with a warm spice finish. Taro Pearl Milk Tea is purple, nutty, and a little like vanilla. Coconut Pearl Milk Tea and Mango Green Milk Tea sit lighter. And the Golden Retriever stacks several toppings into black milk tea, which makes it one of the best Happy Hour deals on the board.

If you want plain tea with nothing extra, Classic Tea and Honey Tea from our Fresh Brew line are the simple picks. Both can be made with no sugar at all.

Our Coffee Shop Drinks at Happy Hour Price

Need more of a push for the afternoon? The coffee shop side of our bubble tea menu is where the strongest drinks live.

Coffee Creama is cold coffee with a cream cap on top. Sip through the cream, don't stir it. Coffee Milk Tea w/ Coffee Jelly mixes coffee and milk tea with soft coffee jelly cubes. Coffee w/ Ice Cream is blended, with a scoop on top.

Here's how caffeine stacks up on our menu, from most to least: coffee drinks, then black milk teas like Thai tea, then matcha and green tea, then the caffeine-free drinks.

A Dessert Shop Treat in the Middle of the Day

Some lunches deserve dessert. This part of our bubble tea menu works like a dessert shop, and Happy Hour is a good excuse.

Oreo w/ Pearl is thick cookies-and-cream with chewy pearls at the bottom. Taro w/ Pudding is soft and nutty with silky pudding. Thai Tea w/ Pearl is the frozen version of our Thai milk tea. Peach Tea w/ Lychee Jelly is the lightest of the blended group. Lava Flow layers mango with a spicy peach purée, so it looks like lava running down the cup.

Halo Halo is our Filipino-inspired drink, made standard or as Halo Halo Ice Blended. Both eat more like a sundae than a drink. At $5, Halo Halo is one of the biggest builds you can order.

Quick tip: blended drinks separate if they sit too long. If you're taking one back to the office, drink it on the way.

Ice Cream Shop Orders for $5

Three of our bubble tea drinks come with a real scoop on top, so you can cover an ice cream shop craving in the same stop.

Mango w/ Ice Cream is bright and tropical. Coffee w/ Ice Cream has a mild bitter edge that keeps it from getting too sweet. Strawberry w/ Lychee Jelly & Ice Cream is tart and sweet, with lychee jelly waiting at the bottom.

The scoop melts as you drink, so the last few sips taste creamier than the first. If you like it that way, take your time.

Juice Shop Picks for a Lighter Lunch

Not every lunch break calls for something creamy. Our fruit teas do what a juice shop does, but every drink is made on brewed tea instead of just juice and syrup.

Mango Green Tea is the easy starter. Passion Chess is tart and bright. Berry Lychee Burst has a floral, berry taste. Peach Tea w/ Honey Jelly goes down easy. Mango & Passion Fruit Tea sits right between sweet and sour. Honey Lemonade is the hot-day standby.

These are also a good bubble tea pick if you skip dairy, since fruit teas don't come with milk.

Soft Drinks Shop Swaps Without the Caffeine

Want a cold, sweet bubble tea without the caffeine? Our caffeine-free drinks do the job of a soft drinks shop, minus the can.

Tiger Boba is brown sugar pearls with fresh milk and no tea at all. Strawberry Coconut is creamy and fruity, with no tea. Wintermelon Lemonade has a mellow, honey-like taste with a clean lemon finish. On hot days there's Wintermelon Lemonade Ice Blended, and when you want it creamy, Wintermelon w/ Fresh Milk.

These are the ones we point parents to. Kids love them, and nobody is wired at bedtime.

New Matcha Series

Our newest bubble tea lineup is made with real matcha. It has a grassy, slightly bitter taste that plays well with milk and fruit.

Matcha Pearl Milk Tea is the standard one with pearls. Matcha Fresh Milk keeps it clean and simple. Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk is the pink-and-green layered one you've probably seen on Instagram. Mango Matcha Fresh Milk layers mango, fresh milk, and matcha.

Here's something we see at the counter all the time. Somebody comes in around noon, looks at the menu board for a long minute, and then orders the same Classic Pearl Milk Tea they always get. Same bubble tea, every time. Not because it's their favorite. Because trying something new feels like a gamble on a workday.

So we took the gamble out of it. During Happy Hour, the Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk you've been eyeing costs the same as your usual. So does the ice blended drink with a scoop of ice cream on top.

How Happy Hour Works

The short version:

That last line matters. "In store only" means you walk up to our counter and order in person. Orders placed through an app or a delivery service don't get the Happy Hour price.
