#10: Strawberry Coconut

It starts in about March. The weather turns, the Blue Hole crowd picks back up, and orders for one drink jump so fast we have to double our coconut prep. That drink is Strawberry Coconut, and it lands at #10 on our list.

Here's why people like it. It's creamy without being heavy. Coconut gives it a smooth, milky body, and the strawberry keeps it bright instead of sweet-and-tired by the third sip. There's no tea in it, so there's no caffeine. That one detail is the reason it wins. A mom can bring three kids in after a game at San Gabriel Park, order four of these at 7 p.m., and nobody is bouncing off the walls at bedtime.

Order it like a regular: 50% sugar, regular ice, pearls on the bottom. The pearls soak up a little of the coconut and it's better that way. If you want it lighter, swap pearls for lychee jelly.

It's a good first drink if you've never had bubble tea before, and it's the gentlest bubble tea on our board. Nothing about it is strange. It tastes like strawberries and cream with a little tropical edge, and the chewy pearls are the only new thing you have to get used to.

Where to Find Real Bubble Tea in Georgetown, Texas

We're at 1013 W University Ave, Ste 165, inside Wolf Ranch Town Center — the same stretch you're already driving for groceries and a Target run. Take the University Ave exit off I-35 and you're two minutes out.

That spot puts us in the middle of a few different crowds. Southwestern University students come in on study nights. Families roll over from the Square after dinner. High schoolers show up in a pack around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoons are quiet and slow, which is the best time to come if you want to try something new and ask questions.

We're part of Sharetea, which has been making boba for about 30 years, and our tea leaves and toppings ship in from Taiwan. But the pearls are cooked here, in small batches, all day long. That's not a marketing line — it's just how boba works. Cooked pearls go hard and sad after a few hours. If a shop cooks once in the morning, you can taste it at 8 p.m.

A Cafe Where You Can Sit and Stay a While

Plenty of people use us like a cafe, not a grab-and-go. Laptops, homework, a friend catch-up that runs an hour long, one bubble tea stretched across the whole thing. Nobody rushes you out.

If that's your visit, get something you can nurse. The Milky Series is built for that. Classic Pearl Milk Tea is the one to start with — black tea, milk, chewy pearls, the drink that made boba famous. Honey Pearl Milk Tea is a little rounder and sweeter. Hokkaido Pearl Milk Tea leans caramel-ish and rich. Taro Pearl Milk Tea is that purple one everyone photographs, nutty and smooth like a sweet potato milkshake. Thai Pearl Milk Tea is bold and spiced. Coconut Pearl Milk Tea and Mango Green Milk Tea are the lighter picks, and the Golden Retriever is the one people order because of the name and then come back for on purpose.

Want the tea itself with nothing hiding it? Our Fresh Brew line is just that. Classic Tea and Honey Tea, brewed fresh through the day, zero sugar available. Old-school tea drinkers usually land here.

The Coffee Shop Side of the Menu

You don't have to split up when half your group wants coffee and half wants bubble tea. We work as a coffee shop too, and our coffee drinks have the boba shop twist built in.

Coffee Creama is smooth cold coffee with a salted cream cap on top — sip it through the cream, don't stir it. Coffee Milk Tea with Coffee Jelly is the one for people who can't decide between coffee and milk tea, with little jelly cubes that taste like cold brew. And Coffee w/ Ice Cream is an ice-blended coffee that's honestly closer to dessert than a morning drink.

Handy tip for study season: coffee drinks and black-tea drinks carry the most caffeine on our menu. If you're here at 8 p.m. and still want a treat, skip both and jump to the non-caffeinated section below.

Our Dessert Shop Menu: Ice-Blended Drinks That Eat Like Dessert

Georgetown summers run hot and long. From June through September, our ice-blended drinks outsell everything else, and honestly this half of the bubble tea menu works like a dessert shop.

Oreo w/ Pearl is the crowd favorite — cookies-and-cream thick, with pearls at the bottom you have to chase. Taro w/ Pudding pairs that nutty taro with soft egg pudding. Thai Tea w/ Pearl blended is spicier and sweeter than the milk tea version. Lava Flow is the showy one, strawberry running through coconut, and it photographs better than anything else we make.

Then there's Halo Halo, our Filipino-inspired mix, which we do two ways: the regular Halo Halo and the Halo Halo Ice Blended. Both are loaded, layered, and meant to be eaten with a spoon as much as sipped.

Bring a spoon straw for these. Ask us — we keep them behind the counter.

Ice Cream Shop Favorites, Served in a Cup

Some drinks we make have actual ice cream on top, so an ice cream shop craving works here too.

Mango w/ Ice Cream is the summer standard — sweet mango, cold scoop, done. Strawberry w/ Lychee Jelly & Ice Cream adds those little floral jelly bits that pop when you chew them. And Coffee w/ Ice Cream does double duty for the coffee crowd.

These melt fast in a Texas parking lot. If you're driving more than ten minutes, ask for extra ice or light ice cream and it'll hold up better.

Juice Shop Flavors: Real Fruit and Fresh Tea

If you want something light and not milky, this is your section. It's the closest thing we have to a juice shop, except every drink is built on brewed tea instead of syrup and water.

Mango Green Tea is the easy yes — green tea, mango, nothing complicated. Passion Chess is tart and a little punchy. Berry Lychee Burst is our most floral drink and the one that surprises people the most. Peach Tea w/ Honey Jelly and Peach Tea w/ Lychee Jelly are both soft and easy, good for anyone who thinks bubble tea is too sweet. Mango & Passion Fruit Tea splits the difference between sweet and sour. And Honey Lemonade is the one people order on the hottest day of the year without thinking about it.

Every one of these can go 0%, 30%, 50%, 70%, or 100% sugar. We recommend starting at 50%. You can always go up next time.

Soft Drinks Shop Alternatives, Without the Can

Skipping soda but still want something cold and sweet? Our non-caffeinated drinks do the job of a soft drinks shop without the can.

Tiger Boba is brown sugar pearls with milk, striped up the side of the cup, and it's the drink most people photograph first. Strawberry Coconut — our #10 — lives here too. Wintermelon Lemonade is the sleeper hit: wintermelon tastes a little like caramel and honey, and the lemon cuts it clean. There's a Wintermelon Lemonade Ice Blended version for hot days, and Wintermelon w/ Fresh Milk for something creamy and calm.

This is the section we point parents to. Caffeine-free, kid-friendly, and nobody feels left out.

New Matcha Series

Our newest bubble tea lineup, and it's climbing fast. We use real matcha, so it's grassy and a little bitter underneath the sweetness — that's how it should taste.

Matcha Pearl Milk Tea is the classic build. Matcha Fresh Milk drops the tea base for straight milk, so the matcha comes through cleaner. Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk is the layered pink-and-green one all over social media. Mango Matcha Fresh Milk is the sweeter cousin.

New to matcha? Start with Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk at 50% sugar. The fruit softens the edge while you get used to it.

Questions We Get at the Counter

What is bubble tea, exactly? Tea, milk or fruit, and chewy tapioca pearls at the bottom. You drink it with a fat straw so the pearls come up. The "bubble" is the foam from shaking it, not the pearls — but everybody calls the pearls bubbles now, and that's fine.

Is bubble tea caffeinated? Depends on the drink. Black and green tea drinks have caffeine, coffee drinks have more. Our whole non-caffeinated section has none.

What should a first-timer order? Classic Pearl Milk Tea at 50% sugar — the bubble tea everything else gets compared to. It's the baseline everything else is measured against.

Can I make it less sweet? Yes. Five sugar levels, and 0% is a real option on most drinks.

Do you have dairy-free options? Most of our fruit teas have no dairy at all. Just tell us at the counter and we'll point you to the right ones.
